wood chips optional
We recommend that you cover food waste with a light layer of wood chips or cardboard to absorb smells and keep them inside the bin, where they belong! When we pick up your bin, we make sure to fill up your supply of wood chips.

a note on commercially compostable plastics
Please do not line the buckets with bio-bags, even if they are “compostable in a commercial facility.” We also cannot take compostable plastic straws or any compostable plastic cutlery. Our farmers are certified organic and sometimes use food waste as animal feed. Neither the organic regulators nor farm animals want plastics, not even the “biodegradable” kind.
